FAQ

Q. What are my payment options?

A. You have a few different options for making a payment to us:

1. Visa or MasterCard can be accepted through our online form here:

http://classifieds.nonprofitnews.org/PlaceAd

If you don't have a Visa or Mastercard to use then you may want one of these alternative options:

2. We can send you a request for payment through PayPal if you like. They take most other card types, they can handle international transactions, and payments from bank accounts (checking) as well.

3. Or you can send us a check by mail.

Please contact us and let us know if you need further information on the second or third payment options.

Q. How much do your ads cost?

A. Each time you place an ad you pay the current price per ad, which is listed on the About page, and also on the Ad Placement form.

Q. How long will my ad be live on the website?

A. There is no longer an expiration date on ads.

Newly posted ads always appear at the top of the home page and its department page. As more ads are posted it will travel down those pages.

Q. Is there a size limit for ads?

A. There is no longer a limit on the length of ad text (body).

Q. What is an RFP?

A. RFP = Request for Proposals. Usually when an organization has outlined a project, and written a requirements document, they will also create an RFP for consultants or other contractors to respond to.

(Further, to address the question of who qualifies to submit an RFP ad for free. At this time the offer is only for Funders (grant-makers).)

Q. Are there further Ad Requirements I should know about?

A. There is a web page detailing all of the requirements for placing an ad here:

http://classifieds.nonprofitnews.org/AdRequirements

Q. How many people will see my ad?

A. The total monthly audience for Nonprofit Online News is about 50,000 people. (Remember that your ad will be up on the website, and will be sent out once in email to all subscribers.)

We provide several means of reaching those people: through email, the web sites, and through RSS feeds. That's how many people have the opportunity to see your ad. How many actually do will vary, just as it varies for the classifieds in a daily newspaper.

Ads get the most attention the first week or two after posting, after that it drops off, but there is a trickle of continuing attention.

Q. How can I get my Ad to be sent in more emails to your readers?

A. Each Ad purchased will be sent out to all Nonprofit Online News subscribers once (via email). We don't offer incremental pricing to send ads in more emails. The only way to get into multiple emails is to buy multiple ads.

Q. Are the classified ads limited to advertising from nonprofits?

A. No, not at all. We are not restricting the scope of ads. We are only reserving the right to reject ads in case something completely inappropriate gets submitted.

Q. Which category should my ad be placed in?

A. Please see the department descriptions on this page:

http://classifieds.nonprofitnews.org/about

Q. What format are ads run in?

A. You can see examples by looking through the current listings on the site:
